Lok sabha Election 2024, Who is weak congress or BJP? Have to wait for results

After the end of the first phase of voting for the 18th Lok Sabha elections, preparations for the second phase of polling across the country have been in full swing.

Political parties across the country are campaigning at a fast pace. In the meantime, a special issue has come into the limelight.

The Congress party, which is the oldest political party in India’s politics and is in power for the longest time, has contested the fewest number of seats in the general elections this time.

Is the Congress strategy or weak !

The Congress has so far fielded candidates for 301 of the total 543 seats this time.

The party is expected to contest a total of around 320 seats this time. The buzz now is that the Congress has lost the power to contest too many seats.

The party has lost the ability to contest on its own. In the midst of such speculation, others say that the Congress is contesting such a small number of seats this time for strategic reasons.

In fact, in the last 10 years, the organisational base of the Congress has weakened considerably. The party understands that the chances of it winning single-handedly against the BJP and PM Modi are quite slim.

So there is a lot of depend on other opposition political parties as well as regional political parties. According to political experts, the Congress is therefore contesting the elections this time by making political equations with the spirit of sacrifice.

Congress’s alliance with regional parties

The Congress has no option but to ally with opposition political parties as well as regional political parties to contest against the ruling party, which has become quite powerful in the last 10 years as well as the NDA.

However, this decision of the Congress to contest the fewest number of seats this time will only benefit the party rather than harm.

While the party can win half the number of seats this time, at least it will get an opportunity to significantly strengthen the organisational base of the party.

Because the party has now reached such a situation that in many seats, the party has not been able to find candidates even to field candidates.

On the other hand, out of the 543 seats, there are 200 such seats where the vote battle of the ruling BJP candidate will be directly with the candidates of non-Congress or regional political parties.

Therefore, this decision of the Congress is likely to cause a lot of damage to the BJP. It is to be noted that the Congress has left the seats to its allies by not projecting more candidates on its own in several states of South India and North India.

Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar and Tamil Nadu have left the maximum number of seats for the allies. In Bengal, the Trinamool Congress is contesting alone but India is an alliance partner at the Centre.

Notably, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar and Tamil Nadu have a total of 201 seats. The Congress will contest less than 20 seats in Uttar Pradesh.

The party will contest 17 of the 48 seats in Maharashtra. Political experts claim that this decision of the Congress is time-befitting.

It is to be noted that voters’ attraction towards national political parties is slowly declining. The congress and BJP regimes in particular have exposed the character of the national party.

The BJP has become stronger with the support of regional political parties and has now started swallowing up regional political parties.

After this policy of the party came into being, the leadership of the regional political parties which are still strong have started to feel things anew.

In such a situation, the strategy adopted by the Congress by aligning with these political parties and leaving them seats is considered correct.

Congress’ stand in 2014-19

Earlier, the Congress had contested 421 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Earlier in the 2014 elections, he contested 464 seats, 440 seats in the 2009 elections.

Similarly, in the 2004 elections, he contested 417 seats and in the 1996 elections, the highest number of 529 seats.

The BJP is worried about low voter turnout in phase 1

The first phase of elections in the country will be held on April 19. But the percentage of voting in this election is low. This has increased the bjp’s worries. Isn’t Modi magic working!

The BJP held meetings till Monday night due to low voter turnout. After this, a special message is sent to the party workers.

BJP national president J P Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior leaders were present at the meeting.

During the rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pointed out low voter turnout.

When the BJP came to power in 2014, the voter turnout was 66 per cent. In 2009, the voter turnout was just 58 per cent. In 2019, the voter turnout increased to 67.40 per cent.

It is to be noted that the voting in the first phase of the current elections was only 63 per cent and this has become a cause of concern for the BJP.

The remaining six phases of elections. So what is the voter turnout in the upcoming elections will be remarkable.

Is PM Modi getting into the politics of religious polarisation?

Meanwhile, prime minister Modi has entered the politics of religious polarization in view of the low voter turnout in the first phase! A few days back, a special comment on Muslims was made at an election campaign rally in Rajasthan.

The Congress then filed a complaint with the Election Commission demanding appropriate action against the communal remarks.

But no action has been taken by the Election Commission. So the Congress has now started thinking of approaching the law.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had accused Muslims of having given birth to more children in Rajasthan, referring to Muslims as infiltrators in the midst of an election campaign rally.

It also said the Congress will distribute the country’s wealth among these Muslims.

The Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against such communal remarks of the Prime Minister, terming it as divisive and malicious.

But so far, the Election Commission has not taken any action against him.

Congress national spokesperson Supriya Shrinate’s reaction

Congress national spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said organisations like the Election Commission have to earn the trust of the people. If there is such a breach of trust then work will have to be done to restore that trust.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made hate speeches in Rajasthan. Our colleagues met the Election Commission on Monday and lodged a complaint in this regard.

Since they have not taken any action yet despite our complaints we are looking into the legal remedy in the matter.

It may be recalled that after Modi’s controversial speech on April 21, 16 complaints each were filed against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for alleged violation of the code of conduct.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s communal remarks claiming to redistribute resources in the Congress manifesto have triggered a nationwide backlash.

Meanwhile, Supriya also took a dig at the election commission’s role and said, “We hope it will be a free and fair election. We have already got proof of that.

The less said about the Ec’s action against the BJP the better.

BJP’s views on Kashmir

The BJP says it has a different dream about Jammu and Kashmir. But has the Prime Minister acted as said? Questions have been raised among the general public about that.

Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuck sat on the sidelines for 21 days a few days ago due to some of the stand taken by the Modi government on Ladakh.

After coming to power for the second time at the Centre, the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution from Jammu and Kashmir.

As a result, Jammu and Kashmir has lost its special status. The Lok Sabha elections are being held for the first time since the withdrawal of 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.

This is the first time that an ‘outsider’ candidate is contesting this election by taking advantage of the withdrawal of 370.

It is to be noted that due to the withdrawal of 370, other Indians have now got the right to vote in the region and also to contest elections, even if they are not the sons of the soil of Jammu and Kashmir.

Baldev Kumar, a resident of Mohali in Punjab, filed his nomination as an independent candidate in the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday.

He became the first person in the history of Kashmir to contest the Lok Sabha elections despite being a resident of other states. Though he is a citizen of Mohali in Punjab, Baldev Kumar now lives in Jammu and Kashmir.

After the withdrawal of 370, the Election Commission had informed that citizens of other states living in Jammu and Kashmir will also get voting rights in the assembly elections.

As a result, names of many new target people have been included in the new voters’ list.

If the special status is not revoked from Jammu and Kashmir, these new targets will not be allowed to be included in the voters’ list.

Baldev’s remarks after filing his nomination

“I have been working for the people of Kashmir since the 2014 floods,” Baldev told reporters after filing his nomination. I spend most of the year here.

I am patronizing the education of many students in Jammu and Kashmir. We have constructed a building to accommodate those from Kashmir who go to Punjab for medical treatment.

So that they can stay there and get treatment. He hopes that the people of Kashmir will elect him and send him to Delhi.

According to Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the Assam BJP…

“During the Congress rule, we had to spend days in Delhi to meet Union ministers and officials on issues related to the interests of Assam and the Northeast.

It was then that I saw the negligence, reluctance and oppression of congress leaders, palinetas towards the people of Assam and the Northeast.

The entire Barak Valley has been neglected for decades due to the dismal condition and misrule of the Congress government.

Ever since the BJP government came to power under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Barak Valley along with the entire North-East has also witnessed a renaissance of development.

Now Delhi itself is moving towards the Northeast. On Modi’s instructions, it is now mandatory for every Union Minister, senior officer to visit North-East India frequently.

Even the Prime Minister himself has visited Northeast India more than 64 times in the last 10 years. This is rare in the political history of India.

When Sonowal was chief minister

“During my tenure as chief minister, I worked hard to solve the burning problems caused by the inaccessible condition of the roads in barak valley.

Realizing this pain of the people of Barak, we started a new awakening of development with the slogan of ‘Barak-Brahmaputra, Pahar-Bhaiyyam’

Parimal Suklabaidya was inducted into my cabinet from Barak as the minister of horticulture. So as to improve the transportation system of Barak.

Various road projects were implemented at a cost of about Rs. 4,500 crore during my tenure as chief minister to upgrade the transportation system of Barak. Now Barak Doptdop is moving in all directions.

The distance between the Barak Valley and the Brahmaputra Valley, which the Congress has kept alive, has also been reduced in the days of our government, be it mental distance or road distance.

Under the strong leadership of Narendra Modi, various ambitious projects have been implemented to upgrade the transport connectivity system across North East India with a corpus of more than Rs 5.50 lakh crore.

The BJP-led NDA across the country is sure to cross 400 seats. In Assam too, at least 12 seats will be gifted to bjp allies.

Modi’s guarantee has given strength to the waterways of the North East towards building a developed India. Now the importance of National Waterway-2 i.e. Brahmaputra and National Waterway-16 i.e. Barak has increased significantly.

These two rivers are also connected to other parts of India through the India-Bangladesh Protocol Route.

The terminals in Karimganj and Badarpur, which we inaugurated recently, will play an important role in strengthening water transport infrastructure across the region for better movement of cargo and passengers.

Greenfield port will be set up at Silchar soon. All these projects will give a new impetus to Narendra Modi ji’s strong vision for the North East and accelerate the North-East as india’s growth trajectory.

In the last 10 years under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we have made remarkable efforts to develop and explore the full potential of our 20,000 km long inland waterways sector.

Over Rs 1,000 crore has been invested in the last few years to improve waterways in the Northeast. These projects will have a positive impact on Assam as well as its adjoining states of Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said at a press conference that the North East region is emerging as an important region of South East Asia due to special emphasis on the Act East Policy.

The chief minister campaigned for Dilip Saikia, the candidate from Darrang-Udalguri Lok Sabha constituency, ahead of the second phase of elections scheduled to be held on April 26.

Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the people

Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the people to make Dilip Saikia victorious.

CM Sarma explains that the poor have received the welfare schemes of Arunodaya, IAY ghar, ration card, one lakh jobs, etc., without spending a single rupee.

Assam will be one of the best states in India if the BJP is in power for five more years.

In the coming days, all those who have ration cards will be given government jobs and in the coming days, another 50,000 educated unemployed youth will be given government jobs.

It will be interesting to see how far the Congress alliance with the regional party will have an impact. On the other hand, in view of the low voter turnout, how successful will the BJP’s stand!

Because the anti-establishment wave has already started among the people against the BJP government. Will the Modi government suffer the consequences of failing to stop price rise and not taking real steps to solve the problem of unemployment?
